Scruffy (aka Hank)

HOMETHE BOYS

Hi People!  My official name is Scruffy, but my foster people call me Hank...which is just fine with me!  I am a huge love-bug.  I love to be right where the people are and I only want to go outside if one of the people is going with me.  I LOVE head and belly rubs and I will sit beside you all night and watch TV or sleep.  I really enjoy the other dogs during play time (as long as there are enough toys for me too,) but I don't like to eat with them.  I have a little bit of food aggression, which is common with us thrown away hounds, but my foster people say I am getting better.  When you are not used to getting food regularly you can become a bit possessive of the food you do get.  Since I have been with my foster people I am learning that I can slow down when I eat, because I think they might actually give me more later! My foster mom says I do great in my kennel...which I like just fine.  I don't make a peep once I get inside...but they have to coax me in with a treat.  I am doing well in the house training department and I have only had 3 accidents since I arrived, The first time was due to my nerves (the first night I arrived) and the other two times were my foster mom's fault.  She said didn't let me out as quickly as she should have.  I have a deep and soulful bark and I will let you know when someone is here that I don't think should be.  I need to protect the people so that they can feed me later!  I came to BHRA from Tuscaloosa.  I had a broken leg when I arrived and spent three weeks at the Calera Clinic.  I was hit by a car and my owners didn't want to spend the money to have it fixed.  My leg is healing fine now, but I still walk with a limp.  I am between 2 - 4 years old and I weigh 50 pounds.  Don't you think I sound great?  If you do, please call my foster people!  They'd love to tell you all about my cute basset self!

Adopted by his Fosters Stacy Campbell and Alex Greenbaum of Trussville, Alabama!  Yeah for Scruffy!
