Hi People! My
official name is Scruffy, but my foster people call me Hank...which
is just fine with me! I am a huge love-bug. I love to be
right where the people are and I only want to go outside if one of
the people is going with me. I LOVE head and belly rubs and I will
sit beside you all night and watch TV or sleep. I really enjoy the
other dogs during play time (as long as there are enough toys for me
too,) but I don't like to eat with them. I have a little bit of
food aggression, which is common with us thrown away hounds, but my
foster people say I am getting better. When you are not used to
getting food regularly you can become a bit possessive of the food
you do get. Since I have been with my foster people I am learning
that I can slow down when I eat, because I think they might actually
give me more later! My foster mom says I do great in my
kennel...which I like just fine. I don't make a peep once I get
inside...but they have to coax me in with a treat. I am doing well
in the house training department and I have only had 3 accidents
since I arrived, The first time was due to my nerves (the first
night I arrived) and the other two times were my foster mom's
fault. She said didn't let me out as quickly as she should have. I
have a deep and soulful bark and I will let you know when someone is
here that I don't think should be. I need to protect the
people so that they can feed me later!
I came to BHRA from
Tuscaloosa. I had a broken leg when I arrived and spent three weeks
at the Calera Clinic. I was hit by a car and my owners didn't want
to spend the money to have it fixed. My leg is healing fine now,
but I still walk with a limp. I am between 2 - 4 years old and I
weigh 50 pounds. Don't you think I sound great? If you
do, please call my foster people! They'd love to tell you all
about my cute basset self!
