HOMEOUR HOUNDS

Jason and Martha Crow

Katie Crow
Jason and Martha's first Basset was a sweet puppy named Katie.
They quickly discovered that she needed a playmate!
(Bet you can't guess why!)

Livingston Crow
They stumbled onto the BHRA web site and fell in love with a beautiful red and white male named Livingston.
(This was actually the picture of him on the website.)
They submitted their application and anxiously awaited the day that they'd get to meet him.
When the day finally arrived they loaded Katie up in the car and drove from Montgomery to Birmingham to meet him.
Katie and Livingston ran around the back yard at his foster parent's home and they became instant friends!
A week later he went home with them.

Livingston Hunting in the Backyard
Livingston was found as a stray by a BHRA volunteer.
She said she saw his tail sticking out from around the corner of a building.
She recalled thinking that if that was a basset on the other end of that tail he was going home with her.
He was found near Livingston Hardware...and that is how he got his name.

Livingston and Katie Lounging
Katie and Livingston are like peas and carrots.
There is hardly ever a cross word between the two of them.
Where ever one is, the other is sure to be close by!

Livingston and Kiki
Even the cats tolerate him...especially on a cold day.  He is a great snuggle buddy!

Livingston Howling
Livingston's favorite things in the whole world (not in any particular order) are treats, howling, his mom and squeaky toys!
His special talent is that he can say, "I love you, mama!"

Livingston and Katie
Katie and Livingston have three really big fans...their three cousins in South Carolina named Wells, Hundley and Stevens.
They are big dog lovers and love to see pictures of them and hear them howl over the phone.
Adopting Livingston was a great experience for the Crows.
He is a very loving dog and a great companion for Katie.
The Crows highly recommend adopting from a Rescue for anyone looking for a great family pet!

New Family Member!
The Crow's welcomed their foster Cede (aka Steve) to be a permanent member of their family in June of 2008.
She came to BHRA as a special needs hound.
She was born in 1998 and upon return to Rescue for the second time it was discovered that she had developed Diabetes.
She takes two shots a day...which all of the dogs really enjoy...because they all get treats!
She takes her blood tests and shots like a champ...without even a moment of protest!
Steve is a great little girl with a very loving and patient personality.
She still acts like a puppy, playing with her favorite toys...dish towels and Daddy's smelly socks!
She is a very special girl who dearly LOVES her Daddy!  She cries when he leaves the house.
