Hi!  We are Hanah & Opal.  I am Hanah (brown head) and I am Opal (black and brown head)!  We are a truly bonded pair of three year old sisters.  (Opal relies on Hanah quite a bit!) We were left abandoned in our back yard when our former owners moved out of state and decided to just leave us!!  Mercifully, concerned neighbors realized we had been abandoned, and kept feeding us until they were finally able to contact our old family who informed them they no longer wanted us.  We are now safe and sound and looking for a truly loving forever home.   Both of us have terrific, sweet and gentle personalities and really have no bad habits.  I (Hanah) am a caretaker and feel very protective over Opal.  I like to pat her on her face with my paw.   I am not a counter cruiser, but if the treats are being handed out I am right there!  If you are doling out the pets and tummy rubs I will love you forever!  While we are fine with other dogs, I (Opal) seem to have a possible  hearing impairment--probably from an untreated ear infection.   I think these people are not sure how much is real and how much may be "stubborn basset selective hearing" since I have no problem hearing the "call for treats."  (I'll never tell!)  I can get startled easily if someone comes up behind me and I don't see them first.  I also am a bit cross-eyed.  My foster mom says she never knows what direction I am looking, but that's ok with me!  I like to keep her guessing!  We do fine with cats, although we like to bark at them.  We get along great with our foster mom's four year old grandson; in fact, he climbs all over us and we don't mind a bit!   Despite my (Opal's) possible deafness, we are both super playful, good natured gals and a bunch of fun to have around.   We aren't kidding!  Give our foster a shout to find out even more about us!
