HOMETHE GIRLS

Hi!  My name is Gretchen.  I am not going to lie to you...although I look all cute with my long basset ears and my beautiful red coloring, I have a sad past.  I was dumped out in the country, left to fend for myself by some not very nice two-leggers.  I can't really talk about it, but I suffered from a lot of abuse in my past and I had a huge wound on my leg when they found me.  That is when things really turned around for me!  One day these wonderful folks rescued me!  They worked for several months to earn my trust.  They were very patient and loving...something I had never experienced before.  I got to where I felt like I could actually trust two-leggers!   Sometimes I am still afraid, as so many of us abused dogs are, but I can now actually warm up to folks once I get to know them.  I'll even happily accept some pets and loving!!  My wound is all healed up now and I'm doing fine!  Those bad days are far behind me now!  I am so thankful that I found my way to BHRA where hopefully one day I will find a my own family that will take the time and patience to give me the love and the happy life that I deserve!  I told those nice folks at BHRA to make sure that my new family knows how to give lots of pets.   Could that be you?  I'd love to meet you!  (I can teach you how to give good pets if you need me to.)  To find out more about me won't you please contact my foster mom?
