Hi there, People! My name is Mercedes (Cede for short) and I am a beautiful 10-year-old girl. As you can see from my pictures, I am very photogenic and super cute! I was adopted from BHRA back in 2001 (when I was young) but my owner just returned me because she has retired and now wants to travel. So here I am once again looking for a true forever home! Unfortunately, when I visited the BHRA vet, I found that I had been drinking and… well… having to “go” a lot because I have something they call “diabetes”. I’m not sure what that’s all about, but my foster mom says the shots I have to take every day won’t hurt, and you know what? I already feel BETTER! Wow! I don't mind my testing and I sit still like a good girl. I know that meal time is coming right after I get tested, so that gives me lots of encouragement to sit still and get it over with so we can get on to the good stuff! I try to be very polite, and I am told I’m always a “good girl”. I take treats gently and just love petting, walks, and I am a power-napper (beauty sleep is good for us, you know!). My favorite thing in the whole world is a blanket on the floor! I just love to mold to the perfect shape with my paws before I hunker down for a good nap! My other two favorite things are belly rubs and TREATS! I just love treats! If you have not given me one for a while, I will remind you! I cannot miss a treat! They are way too important to me. I even look forward to my shot time because I know there is a treat coming right after! The other dogs I live with know it too...they have become very fond of my shot time as well! OH...I almost forgot...my other favorite thing is SOCKS! The dirtier the better! I love to carry them around and throw the in the air with wild abandon. Don't worry though, I don't chew them up...I just like to carry them around with me and play with them. The doctor says I have lots of good years left, and somebody’s gonna be really lucky to get me! (It made me blush! : ) If you think a hound with a lot of love to give who just needs a little extra attention would fit well into your family, please contact my foster family for more information about me!! If you can't adopt me, would you please consider being my sponsor? I've had to have several doctor's visits while I got "regulated" and have needed a good stock of medicine and syringes for my foster. If you could possibly be my sponsor, I would just love it!
Adopted by her
Fosters, Jason and Martha Crow!
She will have a very happy life with her mom and dad
and her brother Livingston, also adopted from BHRA and her sister
Katie!
