HOMEFoster Info

The single most important job in an animal rescue is that of the Foster Family.  Without loving homes and people to care for and nurture these hounds until their permanent homes are found, we cannot take in needy hounds and many wonderful dogs will perish.   YOU CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!  Won't you please consider opening your home to a needy hound on a temporary basis?  Please see our Foster page for all of the details!

What should you do if you want to become a foster?

     1.  Contact BHRA:  Email  Erin Graves at fostercoordinator@bhra.org or you may contact her
by phone:  205-680-4314  (Please leave a message and she will return your call.)

     2.  We will contact you to arrange a home visit.

     3.  Once you are approved, you will need to complete a Foster Care Agreement.

     4.  We will work with you to find a foster that will work well for you and your family.

     5.  Your foster hound will come live with you.  You will treat it just like a member of
the family and help it with any training issues...just like you would with a dog of
your own. (We'll talk in more detail with you about this when you call.)

Fostering is very rewarding!  Won't you please contact BHRA today?!
You won't regret it!
