Well the day has come and gone and
it was great! Both Bassets and people are worn out, but the results are
well worth the sore feet and aching backs! We raised a lot of money for
our beloved hounds all thanks to our very dedicated and hard working volunteers
and our wonderful friends who showed up in droves to support this great Rescue!
Please enjoy a few pictures of our event!

Photos taken by Jack at the Bash will be available for
purchase at

on the evening after the bash.
This is the site...Oak Mountain
State Park in Pelham, AL.
Our signs, donated by the Coca Cola Company, were really beautifully done!

Meg, Molly and Martha at the BHRA Store!

Martha and Meg deep in discussion at the Raffle table!

The day started off a little chilly, but it was a beautiful day by the lake with the sun shining, birds singing, and our Master of Ceremonies, Stretch Cleeland, in rare form!

Someone must have forgotten to tell Stretch that the costume contest was for the hounds only.

The Raffle/Auction table was
loaded down with all sorts of goodies donated by our wonderful sponsors.
Please be sure to visit our Sponsor's Page and show our sponsor's you appreciate
their support of Rescue!

During the Raffle, some of us found very creative ways to keep up with the ticket numbers as they were called!

Keeping up with all of these tickets is work, isn't it Tammy?

During the raffle, nerves could be calmed by hugging a Basset, illustrated here by Brandon!

The costume contest was a sight!
We have some of the most creative Basset Slaves around!
The costumes were incredible!

Many great drawing were done by Joseph from ShinJin!

Not only Bassets attended...we had a lot of little tiny dogs too, like these little Doxies of Tammy and Melanie's!

The Auction was a lot of fun with
our model volunteers, the Girl Scouts!
We were lucky to have girls from two different Troops in attendance!
They helped with the auction, measuring the dogs for the basset contests,
walking dogs, filling up water bowls for the dogs and tearing off raffle
tickets!
Thank you, girls for all of your hard work!

It was a great turn out, Bassets and people everywhere!

This is the Garlach Family from
Crown Point, Indiana!
They won our "Farthest Traveled" Contest!

More than just the dogs and
Stretch came decked out for St. Patrick's Day!
Robbie and Everett were sporting their best green wear as well!

By the end of the day the people
and the pups were plum tuckered out!
All the hounds looked so fetching (no pun intended) in their
St. Patrick's Day bandannas made and donated by Cecile e'Silva!
Thank you so much Cecile!

Now we will look forward to next
year...after a little recuperating, of course!
Thank you again to all who volunteered at the event and a special thanks to all
who attended.
It is people like you who make saving these dogs possible!
